Trauma Counselling
When Trauma Is Still Present
You might recognise yourself here:
You feel constantly on edge or easily startled
You experience anxiety, panic, or sudden emotional reactions
You feel numb, disconnected, or shut down
You avoid certain people, places, or situations
You struggle with trust or feeling safe in relationships
You feel overwhelmed by emotions or, at times, feel nothing at all
Your body holds tension that doesn’t fully release
Trauma is not a sign that something is wrong with you.
It’s a sign that your system adapted to something that felt too much at the time.
How I Work With Trauma
I don’t approach trauma by pushing you to revisit or relive painful experiences.
Instead, we focus on creating safety — first.
We work slowly, with awareness and respect for your nervous system.
Through a body-based approach, informed by Core Energetics, we include what is happening in your body, not just your thoughts or memories.
Together, we begin to:
Build a sense of safety and grounding
Recognise how trauma shows up in your body
Increase your capacity to stay present without becoming overwhelmed
Gently process what has been held, at your pace
Restore a sense of connection — with yourself and others
This work is not about forcing release.
It’s about allowing your system to gradually come out of protection when it’s ready.
What You Can Expect
A safe, steady, and non-judgmental space
Work that respects your pace and boundaries
No pressure to share more than you’re ready for
Support to regulate your nervous system
Gentle reconnection with your body
A focus on building stability before going deeper
We go step by step.
Nothing is rushed, and nothing is forced.

Have any questions?
If you have any questions about the therapies, feel free to contact us.
Is this just talking, or something different?
We do talk—but we also work with the body, awareness, and nervous system regulation. It’s a more integrated approach.

Frequently asked questions
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, sessions are available online and in person.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you’re working through. Some people come for short-term support, others for deeper ongoing work.
Do I need to be in crisis to start?
Not at all. Many people come before things reach that point.
